How much is double glazing for larger windows

A bit of a how long is your string question, but even just a ball park would be great! We have very old wooden windows with incredibly thin double glazing, most of which are blown. They are larger than average casement windows, 7 of them for now. Any rough experience of what it’s cost you would be nice, thanks!

Impossible to say. Ask amongst your friends and neighbours for some recommended double glazing fitters and get some quotes. Whatever you do, do not fall for the 'that price is only if you accept it today' shenanigans!

As PP said very hard but I'll tell you what we paid last year.
Two large 5 window bays, one bedroom, small front bedroom (imagine typical 1930s house) and a very nice door, £7k.

This was with a small local recommended company, had one large national round, they were here hours and then spent the next two weeks calling with offers.

Ask on local Facebook groups for recommendations.

I would look for a local joiner who comes recommended and who does window fitting etc and has evidence to show you of that. Agree that there should be one quote only, no ‘offers’ and avoid the type of company who does that sort of hard sell.

We have a two bed flat but they’re large windows - about 8.5 foot in width and enough height/ drop to need toughened glass - so two bedrooms, front room and kitchen, all with the same size windows. Plus a new front door. All came to about £3500.

We had all the awful salesmen round with their “this offer is only live today” and calling up their “manager” to discuss a discount. Their quotes were ranging 6k - 9k. Then my mum suggested I just look for a local joiner. Got two quotes both of which were around £3500. Loved the guy we got in to do them.
