B&Q garcinia kitchen

Hi all,

The only style of kitchen I’ve seen that I’m really drawn to is b&q Garcinia - it’s handleless but sort of integrated handles in a slightly unusual way. But I can’t see any similar ideas in any other ranges - has anyone else seen anything like this? I keep hearing b&q isn’t great quality, although it felt ok in the showroom... but at the moment, if that’s the kitchen I want, b&q are the only choice I have!

Trying to attach a photo but struggling. It’s the matt stone version, the other colours are just bog standard handleless ones.

Just have to leave you all with a link as I can’t seem to post a picture!

We had a b&q kitchen. Within 18months the doors had started to delaminate. I wouldn't. Ikea are better quality for a similar price in my experience

I’ve definitely seen that style in other places - possibly in independent kitchen shops, but it’s not a b&q exclusive

Ooh i like that, we purchased replacement doors from b&q and they've lasted years with no issues.

Thanks all - I’ve tried the usual contenders for similar styles - Ikea, Howdens, wren, DIY kitchens, magnet... given the choice, I’d go with DIY as I love the range of units they have. I’ll keep looking!

We have a B&Q kitchen. It's a cheap one and after 10 years is awful. Door coating peeling and doors hanging off hinges.
I appreciate that a more expensive range might be better quality but it would put me off getting another.

Thank you - that’s kind of my issue. DIY kitchens are cheaper than b&q, and by and large, nobody has a bad word to say about them. I don’t want to pay more for a worse quality product!

Ours started delaminate from new...
On some of the wider door units you can see slight bubbling in the groove of the door...
If you run your fingers along the groove you can hear a change in pitch where its 'hollow' behind and isn't boned to the MDF.
It is very obvious at the ends of the rebates where the curve rebate turns into a spherical hollow.
On nearly all the doors the plastic wrap/paint is standing away from the timber behind in this area, you can push with the tip of your finger and it deforms to touch the MDF behind. Anything pointed would pop thru the surface material.

This has happened on so many of the door! It seems to be an inherent manufacturing issue

Please check your doors for the same issue....

These are some of the photos of the bubbling on in the door handle of the B&Q garcinia Kitchen doors.
It is clear that the laminate isn't sticking to the timber below.
