Kitchen unit wall sizes

Trying to plan kitchen - only way for it to be in line perfectly below is to have all 600 wall units. We are having the tall 900ish units to the ceiling. Would these be huge in 600 wide?

Otherwise, it’s all 450mm wide wall units - but they won’t be centre over the sink or to units below.

Opinions please!

Wider wall units will have 2 doors. A 600mm unit with 300mm doors doesn’t seem that wide. You could also do 400mm wall units and 800mm base cabinets to make it more symmetrical.

I can only have 600mm on the bases due to the wall length, 2 dishawashers & a 600mm coloumn that needs disguising. It is one long run.

If I split the 600 into 2 there would be 10 x 300 wall doors. Not sure if that’s a bit excessive?

Difficult to tell if it would be too much or not. It might work if they’re modern handleless slab doors for example. If it’s a bit less modern, it might be an idea to break it up a bit, eg by having open shelving over the sink. Those could be higher up in case a tall person is washing up.

It will be shaker style but modern shaker. I would never have open shelving in a kitchen.

Does anyone have tall units? What width are they? Any photos? Thanks

Can you draw it out or use a design programme to judge how it looks? A solid run of wall units seems a bit much. Can you use a feature unit or glass doors in the middle? Also 600 unit doors stick out when open and you can hit your head whilst unloading the dishwashers. Sad to confess this happens to me a lot.

Very good point! Hadn’t even considered how they would look when open! I’ve drawn it up but it means nothing to me as I’m not a visual person at all x

We had 600 wide extra tall wall units in an old kitchen and it was totally fine. Single doors to match up with cabinetry below.

Long shot but don’t suppose you have a photo!
