Cover for flat canopy

I had an old porch taken down, when I had my front door replaced. This has left a bare concrete slab canopy on show. There is a wall on one side, so the plan is to enclose the other side, and have a proper sloping canopy built over it so it is like an open porch.

But until then, I want to just make the current canopy look less shit. There are some houses in the area that have some sort of black rubber looking cover on the slab, and I've seen some bay windows have the same. But I can't find what I mean online. Can only see grp canopies, but it doesn't look like you can fit this over the existing one?

This rubber cover thing looks like it can just be stuck over (the houses which have it round here, you can still see the original slab underneath it).

I am not sure I have explained this well at all, but if anyone knows what I mean please can you tell me what it's called and if it's a relatively easy DIY job to fit it?

Any other ideas also welcome (except painting it). Is there any sort of relatively low priced cladding I could put over it for now, that sort of thing?

Paint the concrete slab with flat roof paint! It dries to a black rubbery looking finish and stops water penetrating the concrete. www.toolstation.com/thompsons-10-year-roof-seal/p24314?store=LA&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=googleshoppingfeed&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K75BRAEEiwAd41h1J1OM1HDGcQ6P-eHt8qGdz5iEw16ilSZJG3R9HKpMwOl0AtLFUjCIRoCVboQAvD_BwE

Then get a pitched roof fitted later. Note that if its over 3m high at any point from ground level it needs planning permission.

Thank you, I had no idea that existed! I was avoiding painting, as I don't like the finish of painted concrete but this sounds much better.

Thanks for the heads up about PP. I think it's currently not higher than 2m so the sloping one should be within the 3m.
