Moving and moaners as we all are getting frustrated

I'll start - only 2 weeks in. On Monday I told my solicitor if it was ok to ring back on Friday to check progress. Today I rang first thing. and left a message for them to call back. I rang at 1pm and was told my solicitor off til Monday. To make matters worse the only other person who could access my file is off too! Arghh.to make matters worse, I thought I'd email her to let her know that yheu buyers survey had been and got an out of office message to say she's off til TUESDAY!!! ( Off to drink wine ). How many weeks in are others / how long are your chains and what is frustrating you about solicitors/ buyers / sellers?

our original solicitor was great but has gone on sick leave with stress. The replacement solicitor seems completely overwhelmed, and is not responding to calls or emails. Each time we call it's a different excuse.

I accept the fact that they are busy, but why not have the courtesy to fire off a 30 second email to say " can we talk next week" ? They just seem so unprofessional.
