How long past the estimated date did you have to wait for your new build property to be ready?

We exchanged on a new build in June told estimated completion was August, then September, its now October and it was supposed to be "build read" (whatever that might be) this week, with us getting the keys two weeks later.

Dh and I went to check it last night, and if its ready by the end of October, I will be very much surprised.

We have to give 2 months notice on our rented place which is 21st October and the mortgage offer runs out on 7th November.

Arrgh, dh is going to phone today and ask them to get a more accurate date of completion from the site manager.

Come tell me your stories!

We bought a new build four years ago and were told it would be ready in September- we moved in on 21st Dec when I was 5 months pg. Fortunately it wasn;t too much of an issue for us as we were moving from rented. We bought from a small developer- 11 houses total and we were the last to be completed. Perhaps bigger developers are different. I remember that it was hard to keep postive with all the different dates and our expectations being shattered. I wish you well!!
