Considering adult child when moving far away (near other relatives)

We want to move some distance as we hate the current place now
and we have a few relations far away (in a place we like)
Our only child has been in the current place all their life and has
good mates but no other family here.
He does sometimes ask about the distant relatives but dislikes
the current place less than us as it is his home after all.
What is the main consideration here?

Assuming no special needs, you should move where you want to.

What are you concerned about?
What's the best that could happen?

As an adult I would want my parents to be happy and if that meant moving away would accept it. Don't limit your life happiness because of your child. Your child may choose to move any way in the future anyway.
My parents want to downsize and one dp won't move out the area because their worried about how one of my siblings would cope it makes me really cross but their is nothing I can do.
