Hi all. This is a bit random and I was looking for anyone with experience. Theres a few farm sheds and an old farmhouse come up for sale near me. Reasonably priced at <£145k for the farm house at 5/6 lovely old barns. All in a bit if a crumbly state of repair. DH is a farmer and generally very good at making/building. Would we be completely insane to even think about buying it as a long term project to do up as holiday cottages (very tourist area). We'd need a mortage on it... would that even be possible?! Were going to go and have a look this weekend and see what kind of state the house is actually in as in kitchen/bathroom etc. Anyone have any experience of doing anything like this? I'm not even sure it's going to be possible money wise but there wouldnt be an opportunity to do something like this in this area again. Right next to DHs farm.
