Has anyone had a pitched roof added to flat roof bay window?

Is this easily done? Is it as simple as putting a pitched roof "hat" on the existing bay or does the original roof need to be taken off first?

We have a square bay window with a flat roof and I really think adding a tiled pitched roof would improve the appearance of the house. I'm not sure where to even start with this one though so grateful to hear from anyone that has done similar. Thanks

I had this done at my last house, it had a flat roofed box bay on gallows brackets, when I had new windows I had it made into a proper bay and a pitched roof was added on top. It was quite straightforward.

My bay is already on bricks at the bottom so literally would just need the pitch adding.
