Does anyone have one? How does it look in real life , does it look cheap?

I have the 'okd' version totem 60l- i love it. I wavered spending that much on a bin, but i have a small kitchen and i find the bins fit a lot in a small footprint. The aldi bin bags fit it too!

its worth every oenny, Doesn't look cheap at all.

We have one. I don’t think that it looks cheap, although it’s in a fairly dark corner of our utility room. I was shocked at the price but bought it because it was exactly what we needed, and it’s still like new after 4+ years. It’s like a tardis in terms of what that you can fit into it!

LouiseTrees · 23/07/2020 22:41

@LivingInTheBackOfBeyond what colour do you have it in?

@elaeocarpus I’ll bear in mind the Aldi bag tip

Actually looking at it online, I think that we have an older version - ours is pale grey.

We have the 'old' version Totem 60l, and I love it. Well made, easy to clean, fits lots of everything, rubbish and recycling-wise, yet the bags and boxes are light enough to haul to the outdoor bins without breaking one's back.
Ours is stone/green with a stainless lid top.

MoreCookiesPlease · 23/07/2020 23:46

Yes, I had the green/stone combination, though I think it's the old version now.

I LOVE mine. It doesn't look cheap. It's lasted well. I like the fact that everything is in one place and sleekly hidden. I waited for the price to drop on Amazon before I bought (use camelcamelcamel to track)

Not sure if we have the old version - a couple of years old now though. Graphite with stainless steel lid

I have the grey one, totally love it. Definitely doesn't look cheap, feels good quality, very practical sizes etc too of the different compartments. Have even had compliments on my bin! Try amazon warehouse, we got a great deal on an opened box and perfect item inside. Also, don't fall for their super expensive bin bags, normal bin bags work fine.

Did you buy the bin, @LouiseTrees? Grin

BIWI · 26/07/2020 15:25

We have [https://www.josephjoseph.com/collections/totem-waste-recycling-bins/products/totem-max-and-compact-waste-recycling-bins?variant=31897399230536 the stainless steel one ]]

As we were doing the whole kitchen (and an extension) it seemed cheap compared with everything else! I didn't want the bin under the sink, so wanted something that would look stylish, which it really does.

windmill26 · 26/07/2020 15:28

We have the dark grey version,we bought few years ago..I don't have any regrets spending a crazy amount of money on a bin as it looks good and it does the job beautifully.

LouiseTrees · 26/07/2020 22:07

I did buy the bin in the light grey rather than the stone or the graphite because there was a deal on the light grey.

Hate it.

Have the old version. The bottom bin is on runners and the weighted front means when the internal bin in removed it over balances. If like me you have marble flooring the result is really ugly chipping to the edge of the bin and the absolute refusal of either amazon or JJ to do anything about it.
Serious flaw in the design. Hopefully it has been changed in later models.
