Life in Richmond for kids and family

Dear Mums,
I would need your feedbacks regarding the life in Richmond for kids and family.
Me and my husband are planning to move in the area by end of the year since we are growing up the family 🙂
Currently living in Highbury Islington, we love the area as very lively, lot of parks, shopping, restaurant and great commute to the center of London where we both work. However, we are looking for more space and also great nursery/ schools nearby. We thought Richmond would tick all the criteria but I am more than happy to hear your thoughts about the life in Richmond.
Is there lot of activities (sport, art, ballet, swimming...) for kids since early age? Would you advise any great nursery/ primary school in the area which is opened full day? Any advice regarding nannies and childminders in the area? Is there a great mum community and is it easy to integrate it and meet new people?
Sorry for all the questions, but everything is so new for us (the area, becoming parents, the educational British system) that I am very looking forward to any info 🙂
Thanks a lot in advance! xx

In summary, it is lovely if you like that sort of thing but it is very overpriced. I would be happier just down the road in Kingston by Richmond park tbh.

Are you going to pay for private secondary education? A lot of Richmond parents do so secondary schools aren't as good as primary schools.

If you aren't an alpha type high achiever or others wealthy then it may not be the place for you because that is the demographic these days due to the crazy house prices.

Otherwise it is nice but expensive. The river, Richmond Park. Has the tube and train. Plane noise is an issue. Traffic is bad, but fairly easy to escape south west.
Primary schools are good or outstanding. Lots of classes for children.
