How does "Insurance Backed Guarantee" for roofing work?

Hi, I have got roofers in at the moment who are replacing my Victorian roof. They say they provide an Insurance Backed Guarantee however they haven't provided me any certificate or other evidence other than the name of the insurer.

Has anyone received one of these guarantees before? Should I be asking for a specific document?

They should give you something in writing once the work has been completed and paid for.

You should get a physical copy of the guarantee and details of the insurance company, that underwrites the guarantees I think.
