Utility and kitchen matching units/styles or not?

I"m just starting a house renovation and will be doing the kitchen next year. However, I will be creating a new utility room next month as it forms an extension between the garage and kitchen.
Just wondering whether to keep the cabinet colours the same as the kitchen, similar colour floor (tiles in utility, wood in kitchen) so as to unify the look or not bother. Kitchen is going to be shaker style. Please share your experiences/photos!

We have similar colour but less expensive units in the utility room as visitors won’t (normally) be going in there. Also recycled some flooring which was only a couple of years old for it, new flooring went everywhere else. Which was a good thing as the dehumidifier sprung a leak in there shortly after.

If they lead off each other I would, if you can afford it.
It'll make kitchen feel bigger and it looks lovely.
I have just done a utility room and spent AGES planning it on the basis I spend so much time in there.

Our utility room leads off the kitchen so has the same units and tiled flooring going right through. It helps to make a small room seem more spacious I think.

And keep the same flooring if you can afford it to. The biggest or half cost of most flooring is usually the installation cost, so unless its a massive utility room its unlikley to add a lot to the cost. ie you won;t save that much by going with a cheaper flooring.
Also what happens when you leave the door open.....it'll look much better if its teh same.
If you can afford it, I definitely would.

I had mine done last year, utility leads off the kitchen.
I had the same units and worktop in the utility (2 x double wall, 1 x double base) but left the appliances unfitted (boiler, washing machine, tumble drier, fridge-freezer).
Same flooring throughout.
Different sinks (stainless steel in utility & black composite in kitchen).
Same tiles.

Mine has cheaper units than the kitchen. However, in the next house, I’ll probably go with matching units. Given it’s only about 5 units, the extra cost won’t be that significant but it’ll look smarter.

Ours leads off the kitchen and has the back door in it. Flooring, units, wall tiles, sink and wall colour are the same as the kitchen. I think it should only be different if it's not directly off the kitchen.

We reused the old kitchen in ours. Cabinets/ sink/ worktop. It leads off the hall so we saved money to spend on good flooring
