Do estate agents acknowledge receipt of offer?

Viewed a property that had another 7 viewings that day. Sold with a guide price. We offered 10k less than the lower price.
Put our offer in an email to EA on Sunday and haven’t heard back still. I assumed they’d say thank you I will put your offer forward for consideration.
Not expecting a yes or no straight away but I start worrying it hasn’t been seen or I’ve done something wrong.
I wasn’t sure whether to call them as it may be a game.
I’m happy to increase my offer but I want to know where I stand and if anyone else is offering.

Always call with an offer in my experience.

It doesn't need to be a game, simply call and say you put forward an offer via email as you wanted it in writing, but also wanted to make sure it had been received OK.

When you speak to them, they'll put it to the buyer, or may relay that there are other offers on the table etc if that's the case. You tend to get much quicker and accurate info on the phone with estate agents i've found. Others may be different.

If by Sunday you mean yesterday, I'd give them a bit longer or ring them if you are worried - it's been less than 24 hours.

Don't make assumptions about game-playing either!

I gave them a ring just to check it was received and was told they rejected it. Thanks for the replies

I would call them.

Half the time I bet offers never make it to the vendors.
