Is kicking a ball at your house wall legal in the UK? Not kicking it at neighbours house, not distracting the neighbours and The property is rented and no damage is being done

Hi, yes, I can't imagine why not. Why, has something happened?

Finfintytint · 17/07/2020 04:32

Not usually a problem. Not illegal but it can be annoying for neighbours with the constant thud thud.

Seeingadistance · 17/07/2020 05:12

If the neighbours can hear it, then it probably does annoy them. It would infuriate me.

Your own children kicking a ball at your own house wall? That awful thump is bloody annoying and it's inconsiderate but it's not illegal.

rwalker · 17/07/2020 06:13

Not illegal but fine example of arsehole parents who don't give a fuck and consider neighbours the constant thud is horrendous .
If they can hear it who's wall it is isn't really relevant its just selfish.

It's not illegal but it's annoying. I've had to have words with my neighbour multiple times for letting her kid kick a ball against the wall under my bedroom window at 7am on a Saturday.

My sister got annoyed with the teenage son of her former neighbour, kicking the ball against the front and onto the roof of their house. Her car was parked in the driveway between both houses and the ball regularely bounced off her front window shield/ car roof. Shortly after, the front window frame started to rust and there was water getting into her car front seats. She couldn‘t proof it was caused by the ball that regularely hit her car, but she was suspecting that it caused somewhat of a damage to her car. The son grew out of the ball-kicking phase soon, after my sister (who worked from home) stood at her front-door to „mind her car“, everytime the „thumping“ noise started.
