Fly tipping

I've just gone into our garden and noticed that our behind neighbour who's garden adjoins ours has replaced two fence panels, but they've also left the rotten old fence panels (that belongs to them) and a load of tree clippings (a tree that is on their land) behind our shed so we couldn't see it until I've gone out and seen it. I'm furious! Is this fly tipping? What can I do about it?

First of all, don't be so sure the neighbours themselves have done it. Far more likely they had someone in to do the work who doesn't have a waste transfer licence. Go and speak to them - take photos before you do - and say something along the lines of, "Not sure who you had round to prune the tree and replace the fence panels, but they've left the waste in our garden!" And see what they have to say.

That's a very good point, I didn't think of that. I might go round and ask. I hate confrontation and as much as I'd like to dump it all back in their garden, I'm too much of a shitbag to do that.
