kitchen layout (oven) advice (with diagram!)

Planning the appliance/ cupboard layout for our new kitchen and not sure where best to put the oven(s). We want either two ovens or a double oven.
Options are (see diagram too)

  1. Double oven in tower A or B (the other of which would be food storage)
  2. Two ovens under the hob
  3. In tower C

I'd really prefer to have them at eye-height, rather than under the hob. Also, if they're in a tower then there's the potential for a warming drawer (I bake a lot of bread) and/or integrating the microwave in the tower too.

I'm leaning towards putting it in tower C because that would free up space for a really big double larder (not pull out!) in A&B. But would it be a pain having the oven the other side of the island? There is counter space next to tower C and also on the island to put hot pans on.

FYI the kitchen (not including dining area) is roughly 5x4.5m

I personally would avoid C, think of the average meal you cook at home, you want everything to be in close proximity to each other (fridge, hob, sink) otherwise it becomes a bit impractical. Google The Kitchen Work principle which may help to make a decision

For ease of use I would go for either A or B.

You need counter space next to both ovens so you can easily put down hot dishes and baking trays.

Is this shape fixed? If not I’d put your sink under your window (assuming it’s a window not full length glass doors) and run counter top along that wall. You can then have tall cupboards in place of the current sink unit to house the oven and still fit in your double larder

I’d go with b, so long as it won’t cause cupboard a to get warm when in use

I agree with this. We have this layout and it works brilliantly.

I’d put the fridge in c and put a double oven where the fridge is.

@RJnomore1 has the most sensible solution. The hob and oven will be on the same side of the kitchen.

Plus if you put oven at c then its very close to the playroom and I wouldn't want to be getting hot trays out with small children hovering around.

Sorry - didn't see these replies. Actually, we just went back to the drawing board a bit with the architect and are rejigging the run of cupboards where C is to give us space for a double larder there. So fridge, freezer and ovens will be on other (sink) side. We did consider putting the fridge in C, but that would annoy me having the fridge so far away from the food prep area.

It's a tricky kitchen to lay out - despite being big, the three doorways make it quite restrictive. But I think we've come up with a good solution now! Thanks for all your suggestions...
