Why no floor plans?

Do EA’s charge extra to include a floor plan in adverts?

I can’t see any other reason not to include them, and I wonder if a lack of them might mean more viewings which don’t go anywhere.

It’s infuriating, isn’t it. I always assume either a shonky layout which vendors don’t want to advertise (which puts me off viewing); or a lazy estate agent, which unless I really like the look of the property, also puts me off viewing.

Generally from viewing experience the former is true - things like bathroom off the kitchen, one bedroom off the living room or garden access through one of the bedrooms. The sort of stuff that puts many people off but agent hopes once you goes in person you might get over it.

Yeah I always assume it’s because the layout is dodgy I.e bedroom downstairs or no upstairs bathroom. I also hate when they don’t include measurements.

Agents usually charge and particularly if its a low budget property people just won't bother

BlackCrow · 16/07/2020 01:04

There is one particular agent round here who offers them as a chargeable extra, hence a lot of vendors don't bother! Everyone else seems to include them in the fee.

I wouldn't view a house without a floor plan, layout is the most important thing!

A chargeable extra! CFs! I'd have thought it was the bare minimum service. We sold our house through HouseSimple (a cheaper version of Purple Bricks). There was a fixed fee total of £500 and they provided a floor plan and took photos.

I wouldn't even view a place without a floorplan or square footage available. It's crazy - in other foreign countries the square ft/metres is the FIRST thing to go in the headline, yet in the UK people think it is an "extra".
