Kitchen website?

We are doing our extension soon and we'll be getting a new kitchen. I remember seeing on a thread (which I cannot find for the life of me) a website recommendation from many people for new kitchens. It seemed very popular from lots of posters so I'm hoping my very vague post will make sense to some and you'll know the website I'm looking for :)

I don't think it is, just a lot of people pleased with their kitchens!

There are some long term posters on this thread that I recognise from previous threads!

I’m not paid by DIY kitchens I promise, I just love my kitchen and any opportunity to talk about it!

Isolatedizzy · 10/07/2020 22:45

Elsie me neither!

whatashower · 10/07/2020 22:56

@Isolatedizzy, yep thats me, dont think I have name changed or was I gighahalibut then? There were some fab folks and some really challenging builds on that thread I hope everyone came through the other side ok. We should have a reunion thread 🤣 Its possible someone is still waiting for their builder to come back 😱

To the cries of 'marketing'....No 'marketing' from me, I just did a shedload of research, kissed a million frogs, nearly spent three times what I eventually did, almost took the advice of overpaid design consultants, then turned a nightmare of kitchen shopping into a really satisfying experience of doing it all myself - with a bit of help and all the kit from that company. And wanted to save other mumsnetters a bit of that struggle.

I think they have the business model right, for me at least.

Happy planning, TokenGinger

@whatashower - yeah I was one of those with a nightmare builder - it was a very supportive thread!
The extension has been a blessing during lockdown so I don't regret it! I still haven't lost the weight from the stress, gin and takeaway extension diet though! 🤣

GinisLife · 10/07/2020 23:14

@isseywith4vampirecats I've got the same kitchen as you - and with mid grey floor too. I love it. I'm so pleased with it. I saved fortunes as well.

whatashower · 10/07/2020 23:23

@Isolatedizzy your kitchen is fab (wish I had tiled somewhere!) so def worth the pain. Even though our builders were good 'uns I swear it took a full year to get rid of all the dust through the rest of the house though. I am still so chuffed at being the 'finder' of the mumsnet cheap as chips Gicasa tap - sadly no longer available - it still sparks joy every time I use it! And we stil have our cats!

isseywith4vampirecats · 11/07/2020 11:14

no marketing from me just someone who is very happy with thier kitchen and happy to reccomend them, loving everyone elses kitchen funnily enough its from here that i found out about DIY kitchens and so glad i did @GinisLife we saved big time compared to other companies ours was £1700 less than Wickes for a better product which paid a big chunk of the plasterer, electrician, fitter etc

Wow! I completely forgot about this thread and was just looking at my "I'm on" threads and saw the updates with lots of pictures. Thank you so much for sharing. I love the petrol coloured cupboards and the darker cupboards.

And that huge open plan kitchen with the floor to ceiling glass doors is like a show home 😍😍😍

@GreyGardens88 I can promise you, it's not a marketing thread. If it was, I'd have been much more specific about the website in the thread title. Also, feel free to search my posts. I'm on the Extension thread in the Property DIY forum and also on some re: removing walls between kitchens and dining rooms. We are doing our extension shortly and will be taking down a wall between our current kitchen and living room to open it to a big kitchen, but before we do that, I need to know if the cost of a kitchen is affordable on top of the extension costs and had seen lots of threads about this website but had not taken down the name of it.
