Building work before moving

Hi all, hope you are well?

Looks like we have to get some work carried out before moving

We are selling our house: buyers survey came back saying:

"Extra support in the form of bracing has been added to the perlin. The bracing is not at a degree that will give adequate support.

"Where the perlins meet the party wall, they are placed on original (1900s) brick corbelling. This brickwork has broken away in places and timber posts have been added for extra support"

I am sorry I do not have photos but this was the description. Has anyone else had this experience or had similar work done, will it cost the earth or is it a small job?

Thank you

Phone the surveyor to talk and get advice from her or him. That’s part of the service you pay for. They will usually know local people who can come and give quotes.

Oh so sorry. Misread it. Thought you were buying. Local surveyor should be able to give you an idea. Your EA usually will have good contacts who can advise, assuming they are a reputable agency. Most senior person in office usually has a freak “little black book”
