I'm planning a trip this week and I wondered what your best IKEA buys have been recently? I do my best to research online and look around the displays for inspiration but honestly would rather not hang around in store for longer than I need to 😷 so please share your favourite items . . .

I usually go alone and spend hours there, and have a coffee break.
Unless there's something too good to leave, I buy nothing, unless I had something I went there to get.

If, having mulled over it, I decide I really want something I go back there and just get what I want.

I have lots of Ikea stuff - the 365 kitchen things are very good.

It is easy to buy lots of bits and bobs otherwise.

I only ever go to IKEA to buy something specific for a space/ room! I can't imagine just going to browse.

That said, I usually leave with extra stuff from the homewares - clothing storage bags or boxes and new glasses or bowls or a vase Smile

Our bed frame - looks beautiful and didn't cost a bomb.

And these book cases look lovely filled with books/plants etc.

Skadis pegboard. So many uses in every room.

I'd take a packed lunch for the queue! And be prepared to hurry round as the long snake of people behind you are breathing down your neck (from a safe distance of course Grin ).

The SKUBB folding boxes for separating things in drawers are useful.

TheSpottedZebra · 07/07/2020 13:56

I trust you already have a Socktopus?

madcatladyforever · 07/07/2020 13:59

I like IKEA Kallax and all the drawers and cupboards that come with it, I bought the 5 x 5 big unit last time and it hides all living room junk, my metal bed frames are all IKEA. My last kitchen was IKEA and it lasted a good 10 years, even more. I'd have spent more on preparation surfaces though.

Warrington has been empty the few times I've been now since lockdown. Pick your time. Around 2pm on a weekday afternoon is working for me. Zero queue at all.

40 min queue at Warrington last week only to find item was out of stock (showing online as in stock). Husband queued for almost 2 hours at Leeds on Saturday.

Got a rug which is really great for the space. Picture frames are usually great value too.

MrBennsshop · 08/07/2020 10:19

We queued for about 40 mins on a weekday afternoon too (different shop). And interestingly the item we needed was listed as being in stock at our local store, but wasn't.
