This is quite close to me! Personally I think it's too small and I think you could probably get more house for your money in the Kettering area. It's decorated nicely but you can replicate it so easily in a bigger property

MummaGiles · 05/07/2020 19:46

Fuck me, is that supposed to be a bed under the eaves in photo 12?

Not enough living space for a family if you ask me.

HeddaGarbled · 05/07/2020 19:55

Very poorly designed, IMO. One, not particularly spacious, living space, small & ugly garden, two bathrooms on middle floor but none on top floor. It may suit you now, but you’d struggle to sell, I think.

Oopsiedaisyy · 05/07/2020 19:59

I'm buying a terrace three bed for 270k 😂

But the floor space of this one is not much bigger, and I'm intending to extend.

I think you'd feel cramped

KingOfDogShite · 05/07/2020 19:59

It’s too small by miles. You could reconfigure “the downstairs in to utility & Kitchen diner and then have a proper living room in one of the bedrooms but then you’d be a bedroom down.

Doodar · 05/07/2020 19:59

It’s a cramped 4 bed, should be 3 max. Where do you put your clothes? I can’t see any storage.

weepingwillow22 · 05/07/2020 20:06

It is nicely presented but unbalanced with two thirds of the space given to bedrooms. If I had a family size that warranted 4 bedrooms I would need a lot more living space. The size of the kitchen would put me off and I would want another reception room in addition to the living room. Having said that I don't know the local market or what else you could get for your money in the area.

meow1989 · 05/07/2020 20:13

Depends if you want a 4 bed or a 3 bed - if 3 bed then I'd have the kitchen diner downstairs and a more formal living room on the first floor.

Valambtine · 05/07/2020 20:18

@Darkestseasonofall

For a 4 bed I expect a separate utility, and another completely separate room, even if small, to be used as a play room / snug. It wouldn't suit family life at all IMO.
Really? We have a Victorian 6 bed with neither of those things and I know no one who does. Where do you live?
HoneyMustardChicken · 05/07/2020 20:18

Ahh I see - it appears to have started life like this!

I’m amazed that house is that price in Kettering!!!!!

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 05/07/2020 20:29

I’d say not enough living space and both bathrooms on the second floor would be annoying too.

I think unless you were willing to have a second lounge space upstairs then it’s not a good balanced living space.

HunkyPunk · 05/07/2020 20:31

The downstairs is all one room. I don't want to eat in the lingerie.

lounge? Grin

TheFaerieQueene · 05/07/2020 20:33

It isn’t to my taste but that is irrelevant. You can get a lot of sq metre-age for your cash with this property, but it is a bit top heavy. If it works for you, go for it.

Cottipus · 05/07/2020 20:50

Seems silly to have 2 bathrooms on first floor but none in the master suite (as it originally was) on the top floor. Is there a problem getting plumbing up there?

It wouldn’t work for me as previous posters have pointed out, the living area downstairs is open plan. If you want dc sleeping on the same floor as you then you have to use both beds on the first floor- unless you squeeze in the top two rooms with no wc. Assuming beds are on first floor then your second reception area has to be the top floor.

But it’s very nicely done and only you know how the space would work for your family.

HappyDinosaur · 05/07/2020 21:12

It looks nice and spacious, very light, also looks quite a good price for a 4bed. Definitely worth a look!

MillyDilly · 05/07/2020 21:28

It’s top heavy with a very small kitchen. I also loathe open plan, especially if you have children or animals. There are times you want to shut them out of the kitchen which obvs you can’t do. Combine that with cooking smells and noisy appliances and it’s a no from me. However, nothing I say matters if you like it and it would work for you.

I said this earlier in the thread. I can see drawers under the bed, but other than that there seems to be a huge absence of any other storage. Confused
Karcheer · 05/07/2020 21:44

Downstairs is completely under proportioned for 4 beds...
Top floor needs a bathroom.

In a house where you need 4 beds, you'd need a bigger downstairs.

areyoubeingserviced · 05/07/2020 23:53

Nicely decorated, but I don’t like the open plan downstairs

PerspicaciaTick · 06/07/2020 00:42

The original layout is much better and more practical for a family.
The current occupiers have squeezed the space until the pips squeak...and the outcome is almost unusable.

This. I preferred the original layout. I think the current owners have ruined it tbh.
NotNowPlzz · 06/07/2020 00:47

Love love love it. Decor is fab, kitchen's beautiful. Bathrooms are lovely. For me personally my only deal breaker is no space for a double ended jacuzzi but I realise that's a pretty niche 'need'! Otherwise gorgeous.

Pipandmum · 06/07/2020 00:49

The living/diner is too small - looks like the sofa is partially facing the table. Why don't they have room dimensions? Less than 1000sqft for a four bedroom? Tiny. And do not like the fact there is no bathroom on the top floor for those two bedrooms. It's top heavy - the downstairs is far too cramped.

Agreed.
