  • not for me. Bloody iPhone

The bathrooms are to die for!

Letthemysterybe · 05/07/2020 19:10

It is very nicely done, but too small for a 4 bed. I’d consider it if I had a small child and needed a room for an office, but not if I had 3 older children.

Onceuponatimethen · 05/07/2020 19:11

I think it’s been nicely done out and the en-suite looks fab.

To me that seems like a good price for 4 beds, but I don’t know the going rate in the area.

I would personally prefer to avoid terraced unless that was the only way I could get the space I needed. I also always avoid galley kitchens (Kitchens usually small and smells in living area) and open plan downstairs (better to have space so adults can do their own thing downstairs if they want to).

BarbRoyle · 05/07/2020 19:12

Like it

OptimisticSix · 05/07/2020 19:13

Its lovely but... Mid terrace is a no for me and I agree with everyone who has said the open planness downstairs would be a deal breaker. Id be happy to holiday in it though.

CoalTitCafe · 05/07/2020 19:13

I agree it's a tiny house, but nicely decorated.

I don't think being mid-terrace is a problem, but everything seems excessively cramped.

However, if you like it and don't have a lot of stuff/clutter then go for it!

HoneyMustardChicken · 05/07/2020 19:13

It would just be me, DH and 18 month old DD. We aren't planning on any more children so top floor would be used for home office and storage. It's only just come up on right move and I really like it, but I don't think DH is keen anyway!

I think 18m is a prime time for having big toys and wanting to be near you downstairs so even more of a no from me I'm afraid.

Geranium01 · 05/07/2020 19:16

For perspective, the entire downstairs footprint - including the hallway and toilet - is smaller than the open plan kitchen/living/diner in the one bed flat I used to live in.

Served wonderfully for one person, with room for the sofa bed for guests etc - for a family home, not a chance!! You'd be on top of each other all the time and it would be so loud when you were cooking, had washing machine on etc.

Also storage as others have mentioned - where are you keeping shoes and coats? Suitcases? Spare linen? Where are you sticking a clothes horse with clothes you can't tumble dry in winter?
I can't see room for anything like that - and no room to build any more storage in!

A big no from me!

Onceuponatimethen · 05/07/2020 19:16

In that case I think you could get more for your money eg a bigger 3 bed and get a nice bathroom put in

Chloemol · 05/07/2020 19:18

Not for me, downstairs to small for a four bedroom, and open plan means no privacy, and I hate lounge, diners. Also agree that the fact the top two bedrooms eon5 have a bathroom would annoy me hearing people coming up and down the stairs to the first floor bathroom at night

I don’t like 3 storey houses either, you can’t get out if there is a fire in the top two rooms

Rainycloudyday · 05/07/2020 19:18

It’s a very nicely presented house but I agree with PPs that downstairs is far too small for a four bed and the lack of a bathroom on the top floor isn’t great. Those things might not bother you but they may well bother someone you’re trying to sell to in future. I would personally go for a better proportioned three bed which may well cost the same or less. Don’t pay a premium for a fourth bedroom you don’t need if the rest of the house doesn’t match. It is gorgeously decorated though!

Wtfdidwedo · 05/07/2020 19:19

For your family size it would work and it's really nice inside. However it's far too much money for a mid terrace for me, and three floors really annoyed me when we rented a townhouse a few years ago.

BoxAndKnife · 05/07/2020 19:19

Looking at Rightmove, it seems quite a lot of money for what you get.

I don't know the area but it seems there are modern 3-storey houses with 4 beds in that price range within a couple of miles, with lots more space.

I think you'd get fed up with the layout pretty quickly.

PerfidiousAlbion · 05/07/2020 19:25

Great bathrooms and well decorated generally but the tiny downstairs open-plan space would be a no - unless you live alone - and the garden looks like a prison yard.

therealkittyfane · 05/07/2020 19:26

It’s basically the same size as a two up two down (small terrace) with a knocked through living area and loft conversion.

notheragain4 · 05/07/2020 19:26

Are you really fixed on that particular area? That budget could get you so much more around Kettering.

TERFWars · 05/07/2020 19:33

Nowhere near enough living space for 4 beds. Think where you spend most of your time - you’ll essentially just be in one room downstairs, no privacy, no separate spaces.

Looks like it would be a great house for a single person who has a lot of weekend guests but not for a family imo.

TARSCOUT · 05/07/2020 19:35

£250k for a terraced house - crikey you need to move to Scotland. Anyway if the price is normal it's a nice enough house. It's nothing spectacular but if it's what you want/need. Don't like that there isn't a drive - just extra hassle with kids, shopping etc.

Hellohah · 05/07/2020 19:35

The Kitchen is tiny. I don't like it.

forrandomposts · 05/07/2020 19:35

The mismatching tiles in the bathrooms would give me rage! Why have different shades on different walls??

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 05/07/2020 19:39

The ground floor looks like a starter home, yet the upper floors are like a long term family home. It's odd.

I'd imagine, when you come to sell in however many years, you would struggle.

AIMD · 05/07/2020 19:39

It is really nicely decorated and is an attractive house. Bathrooms and kitchens look in very good condition and modern. However like others I think it seems too heavy. I would rather a three bed with more living room space than a 4 bed with a kitchen as small as this one.
However it depends on what your personal requirement are. If I had 3 teenagers and a bed room each was important and this was an affordable 4 bed I might go for it. Otherwise I’d look for something with a bigger kitchen or eating space away from the living room.

AIMD · 05/07/2020 19:39

Is there scope for extending it in anyway way downstairs??
