Good Morning,

We are a family of 3 and are looking to move out. We are currently in Romford.

We are looking at Chelmsford or Braintree but do not know the areas great. Could anyone recommend any areas within them areas?

Thank you :)

Grew up in Chelmsford and live in briantree now. We moved because we could afford a 3 bed in braintree vs a 2 bed flat in Chelmsford.

Chelmsford- Writtle, great baddow, Danbury (a bit further out), chelmer village, beaulieu

Avoid Melbourne and medgate

Braintree- notleys are lovely, cressing and goesfield
I'm not as sure on where to avoid aside from lister Road but it is a bit rougher in general

If we go shopping or on a night out we go to Chelmsford but braintree has everything we need for day to day

Can I throw Witham into the mix as well ?
Chelmsford is pretty big these days , but has everything a family could need . I like Braintree , it has a cinema , a smallish outlet village and an ok small shopping centre. I've thrown in Witham because it's still on the railway line , has shops , bars etc but for me has that " it would be a lovely place to live vibe "

I do not recommend Braintree or Witham, I'm in Halstead Ms work in both the areas above.

The villages however are nice.

Chelmsford secondary schools are a lot better than Braintree...
