Mortgage - changed lender??

Hi I have recently had an offer accepted for a house.
I had an AIP with NatWest however they declined my application...
I am now with Trussle broker and am getting a mortgage with Platform. I have informed my solicitor that I have changed mortgage provider but do I need to inform the estate agents?
••I am FTB and there is no chain••

I’m hoping nothing like this will mess up me getting the house!

I don't think so but I doubt the estate agent cares, as long as you have got a mortgage in place.

We had this with NatWest, AIP then declined the mortgage - our broker found us another Lender and we had a AIP within 48 hours, estate agents and solicitors weren’t fussed and it didn’t hold up the purchase.

@MistyIsland thanks for reply!

Did you inform the estate agents? I have only told solicitors. Haven’t got AIP this time just put the application in we’ll broker has but he is 99% sure it will all be accepted.

Can you tell me how long it was from AIP to mortgage offer and how long til you moved in from going with different lender?

Cheers!

I think we did tell the estate agents, I will check with DH. Our solicitor wasn’t bothered, we just updated her with our new lender.

From AIP to mortgage offer was about 4 or 5 weeks, but ours was a slightly different scenario as I’d recently changed jobs and was 4 weeks from being out of my probation period, they also asked for more documents three times (bits they already had according to the broker 🙄)

Took longer than expected around 13 weeks from offer to move, (but still quick really) - our seller/sellers solicitor was very slow with answering the questions from the searches which held it up longer.

Thanks for your reply @MistyIsland I haven’t heard from solicitor since I told them I changed lender and I haven’t bothered to tell the estate agent yet I will if they contact me though. Just waiting for survey searches to be done but I think corona is postponing it cause of staffing...
