Would you buy a house with a japanese bath?!

Hi Property Gurus....need some advice on baths!

We are long overdue a bathroom refurb...it's v small but by nicking some pace from the adjacent (huge) room, we will end up with a bathroom that's 314 x 214 roughly

We know we can get the tub IN as we're taking down a wall....however, I don't know if anybody would ever be able to remove it?

And would YOU buy a home with a Japanese bath? We obviously would be we are complete Japanophiles!!

We are beginning to think it might end up being an expensive mistake as we already know that we will need to reinforce the floor.....

I lived in a rented house years ago that had one. It had a built in step, so you had to sit in the large footwell if you wanted to be submerged up to your neck. I loved it and would have one again.

@AnotherEmma

"I have an omnitub and I have a young child. She loves it, and I love that she can't climb out of it like she did with our old bath."

Interesting. Do you find it's ok for leaning over to wash her?

No problems so far. Our bathroom is so teeny tiny that I sit on the (closed) loo next to the bath to wash her. Would also recommend some kind of hand held shower attachment with it as it makes rinsing a lot easier

Thanks! Yes we have a shower attachment on our current bath and it is handy.

I'm definitely adding it to the wishlist for the new bathroom Smile

I'm looking at the same thing for my bathroom refurb on a tight budget. I was going to only have a walk in shower as the bathroom is small but can't bear the thought of never having a bath again!
Are there any similar priced other options to the omnitub solo as I would rather something less angular?

I'd love a Japanese bath, so much better than western baths and they usually look really stylish too. Definitely wouldn't put me off.
