Sofa.com fabric

Hi, does anyone have experience of buying a band 0 - limited edition sandgate fabric, or any other band 0 fabric from sofa.com? Getting this lower spec will save us hundreds of pounds but I want to make sure the sofas will look ok for many years to come as they are not cheap! I’d be grateful for any experiences..

Ours is five years old now, but avoid the linen like the plague. We paid to have it stain guarded, but even the slightest drop of water leaves an unsightly waterstain. The sofa itself is fine, but the fabric is a nightmare. (Disclaimer: I do have 3 kids and a dog so we may be a particularly accident prone family with glasses of water - but the sofa looks a mess, even after professional cleaning!)

I have a sofa in the Belgian linen and one in brushed cotton. I second to avoid the linen....it's as if the fabric can't hold the cushions together well enough and they just flop. The brushed cotton is amazing though. I would definitely recommend sofa.com just not linen.

To anyone coming across this post I'm going to add to it. Please steer clear of the Sandgate fabrics which are basically Polyester - I got it in Goodwin Grey and as you can see from the pics I attached it is just awful! I ordered it 7 weeks ago, and within 3 days it frayed, bobbled and looks as though I have had it 15 years! The sales woman was very convincing saying "yes this is better than the linen fabric, most people cannot believe this is polyester. They think it's suede!" Very far fetched, it is more like a brushed cotton that flattens and limps very quickly. The alternative for me was the Tweed fabric that cost significantly more, you get what you pay for - I was fuming and messaged them straight away, making clear this wasn't anywhere near worth £600! Also, as you can see from the pics it does not hug the cushions, the cushions themselves were not filled properly, the one on the left is the one of the ones sent to me, the one on the right is from my old Sofa. com Leon sofa, and as you can see, a total difference. The one on the right is how the Isla should look. The back cushions are all limp etc. Yes that is a brand new sofa you're looking at! They have arranged fresh cushions to be delivered in January, and swap of fabric at cost to them I hope as I'm not paying a penny extra unless it is pure luxury! Just pay the extra for a more expensive fabric, Sofa. com are like BMW, their cars get better depending on the spec you buy - anything less than an M Sport you'll have the world of problems with!
