My dsis has moved into first house. Kitchen needs gutting. She's been to get a design and came back with this. She's asked for my advice- I suggested not having an island but a peninsula from the left hand side.
Door on the bottom left is entrance from hall and door on the right is entrance to utility which will have the fridge , washing machine, dryer and a few cupboards for cleaning products or food etc.

Can anyone make any good suggestions to improve! Thanks

I would definitely want the fridge in the kitchen space. I think your idea of a peninsula makes sense as the kitchen is not big enough for an island. If she had a small peninsula on the left for seating would there be room for wall run in the bottom right corner to incorporate a full height fridge? If no could she fit in an undercounter one?

Does she need seating/eating space in the kitchen or is there a separate dining room?

She tends to socialise in the kitchen with a few friends and does have two reception rooms that she could use as a dining room. I think because the fridge is big she wants it out if the way.

Could she have a small secondary fridge in the kitchen for essentials? When planning a kitchen it is normally recomended to form a work triangle of sink, cooker and fridge to minimise walking.

Possible on the right. I will suggest that to her. Thank you!
