I’m thinking of having my kitchen done , I’ve got a chap who could fit it but need someone to design it and somewhere to buy the units from. What’s the best way to go about it?

Cor this comes up a lot! Go to the DIY Kitchens website and play about with their planner tool. It's awesome and you can see a (fairly crappy) 3D model of it. Kitchens are very decent quality and nowhere near the cost of high street.
You can also ask a designer for a comparative design / quote

This is the 2nd such thread this week- kitchen updates a popular at the moment. If the cabinet carcass is fine, you can just have new doors put on. We did this a few years ago and it made the kitchen look completely new.

I think ikea have a 3D tool like the previous porter mentioned. Ex-display models can be cheaper. I know a 2nds white goods store which sells ex display white goods, ones with a scratch, box was dented etc and cheaper than brand new. Can't help with a designer though.
