Loft conversion while all working from home - too hard on neighbours?

DD had long planned to do a loft conversion on their terraced first floor flat this Autumn and got the initial pp etc in place. However, now they and their downstairs and nextdoor neighbours are all working from home for the foreseeable they are very worried about the noise that might really be a problem for people working from home. They could arrange to work around it but worried about putting their neighbours through that.

If you have experience of a loft conversion as a downstairs or next door neighbour while the work was done, would you have been able to work through it do you think? Was it really noisy?

Thank you

Our neighbours have been doing an entire house refurb (they moved out) during lockdown. Builders carried on throughout. Some weeks have been ok, others have been hellish.

If your DD will be living there I think that helps as she will hopefully ensure there is at least one quiet period per day

I think they have also had some issues getting hold of materials as all the suppliers have been shut and now have a long backlog of orders. So something to consider there

thank you minipie. Sorry you've had to put up with that while they moved out, tough one. Hoping that backlogs will be cleared by Autumn, so long as there are no more shut downs!

Just get on with it. There's never a best time to do these things so may as well progress the plans
