Anyone have a compact laminate worktop?

Does anyone have a compact laminate worktop? We have been thinking of getting it for our new kitchen.

We spoke to a kitchen fitter that we really like and he said that he would not recommend putting an under-mounted sink with compact laminate because the laminate layers can still peal if water gets in it.
He also mentioned you cant put a cutlery drawer under a hob with compact laminate as its too thin.

Wickes and Magnet don't seem to be concerned about these things at all. Is this fitter just inexperienced with the material or are there real problems with it?

I spoke with a worktop supplier / fitter and they cannot shift the stuff because it's basically a rubbish product.
Wickes and Magnet won;t give a monkeys about your problems with them so find an alternative

We have it. Had to cut the back of the draw slightly to get a draw under the hob. We were not told about this so had to improvise at the time.

Its fucking shit and they are refusing to take notice of our complaints. Its warped and lifted. Been in 6 fucking months!

Looks bloody gorgeous so it's gutting. Will have to rip out and replace with stone.

Thank you both for your replies. I'm so happy I asked, this has really put me off the idea of compact laminate and I think we will be looking at other options.
