Anyone used a TV show for their renovation?

In particular George Clakes old/ugly house to new? Was it worth it? Did they actually help or was the filming more of a hinderance? Would you recommend it?

We applied for that one but they had enough families so offered us old house new home but we didn’t fancy that as the format is slightly different (we felt that they would try to keep us more to the era the house was built a bit and we wanted to move away from it) but I think they almost always do a cracking job so worth sending them some pics...

Somebody in our neighbourhood had their victorian terrace done by one of the TV shows - changing rooms or something like that. It was a total abomination. I mean shocking.
