So, we're in the process of buying our first house. First three viewings booked this week and really excited!

From the boring admin side of things, what do I need to get ready which might not be obvious? (My entire family rents so don't really have anyone to ask in real life).

  • 6 months wage slips
  • bank statements
  • child benefit entitlement letter
  • agreement in principle
  • letter from work confirming salary

Could they ask for anything else?

Equally, any useful tips in general?

We've done this recently, and they also wanted to see proof of deposit and where it came from.

Have you checked your credit score recently? If not, do it now and make sure there are no outstanding payments or similar lurking that you aren't aware of.

Make sure you have an up to date understanding of what you're spending every month, how and when, as you will probably have to fill out a form showing your monthly expenditure ie. X amount on groceries, X amount on utilities, X amount on leisure etc

They will want an up to date picture of any debt, incl credit cards, store cards, personal loans etc

That's all I can think of really. Best of luck!
