What you wish you had known before the loft extension

Hi

Our stairs are arriving.

I've heard this is where it gets messy. We are both keyworkers and the house is empty with the boys at school. I am wondering what to bag up/how to reduce impact of mess on the bedrooms/bathroom/kids stuff on the 1st floor. Is it as simple as keeping the doors shut or in hindsight do you wish you had bagged up all the rooms (books, knick knacks) etc. Are we going to be Henrying every day and washing bedding every day. Looking for tips and 'wish I had known' ideas before it all goes crazy. Thanks

Can you tape up the doors every morning? So up and out of the bedrooms/bathroom first thing, then black bin bags gaffa taped over the doors? Open them up right before bed?
