Relocating

I am looking for advice as we are looking to relocate up North about 200 miles from current home. Husband is a teacher and I work for NHS we have just put offer on house but worried won’t get mortgage as to far away from home. We have a large deposit and savings which totals about a year’s earning! We are both looking for new jobs no luck as yet but have enough money to last until we do. Would we have to tell mortgage broker that we are planning of leaving jobs?

I think you are maybe doing this the wrong way around. Find jobs first. Then you'll know where to lookfor a house ( think driving too and from work each day, if 9-5 day avoid driving east in morning and west in evening as into sunlight each way )

Yes you have to declare any anticipated changes in circumstances (both quitting jobs would count). Find the jobs before the house!

Definitely find the jobs before the house. How do you know that your new purchased house will be near your new hypothetical jobs? It’s the wrong way round to to do it.

The lenders won't give you the money as they'll see the address you're buying and the address where you work.

You need to secure a job (at least) before applying for a mortgage 200 miles away.
