Architect Plans - What should be included

Hi there,

We've had our architect plans drawn up and have been granted permission to go ahead with the planned work. Currently getting a quote put together with the builder we've decided on and he's questioning the plans we have saying there isn't enough detail in measurements (No measurements for the roof at all) and that he needs something more concrete. Architect said he can supply but is charging extra for this. Including another set of calculations from the structural engineer (needed for the roof) of which we have already paid for and had one set completed.

I'm now wondering if our architect is pulling a fast one and charging us for extra details that should have been included initially. Should roof measurements etc be included in plans and structural engineering plans?

Thank you!

Planing drawings are different to construction drawings. You can't, and shouldn't build off planning drawings.

Construction drawings are usually quite expensive but without those, you're relying on the builder filling in the gaps so to speak.
