Stairs to loft - cost?!

Hi, just wanted to get an idea of how much it would cost to put in proper stairs to a loft room? We’re not planning on doing a proper loft conversion until at some point in the future, but we need to put stairs in to make it more useful (rather than a ladder). We’d make sure it would meet regs, rather than put in stairs we can’t use further down the line! We’d also have to eat into a first floor bedroom.

Realise this isn’t enough info for anything remotely concrete, but would be great to get a rough ballpark.

Thank you Smile

I think it really depends on the space you have to put stairs up and if you will need to get anything up them apart form people - you can get spiral staircases pretty cheap fitted. One quote we had was £900 but there are lots of cheaper simple plain stairs at about £600. We have just had a full staircase fitted to ours with oak and glass and it has cost us £3.5K as the loft room will have a bedroom and bathroom so needs to be easy to get stuff up there.
