Swimming pool costs

We're looking to buy a house with an outdoor swimming pool. Just wanted to get an idea of how much we're looking at in terms of maintenance for it?

It's not the sort of house you would expect to have a pool and we didn't expect to find one that did, so would be good to know what we're letting ourselves in for.

We have one. It probably costs us an £2k a year to run and heat. They need cleaning all the time ( we now have a robot for this which has made a massive difference). OurS could do with a cosmetic update but that’s v expensive and not on our list at the moment. Kids love it.

Depends: how is it heated? How old is it? How is it constructed?
I have a concrete with liner in ground pool, heated April to October by an air source heat pump. This keeps heating costs way down (I'd say £1000 max a year). As for cleaning it just requires an hour or so of vacuuming once a week (or get a robot) and changing the washable filter, and two tabs of chlorine a week. Top up with water as needed.
I have a guy come twice a year to test it, close it down for winter (chemicals added, motor removed, wrapping up heater) and again for opening it up (about £150 twice a year). Not nearly as much faff as I feared.
It's great, I use it several times a week and kids on the weekend, and obviously all summer.
