mould growing on concrete ceiling - will insulated plasterboard help?

I live in a top floor flat in a 1960s block with a concrete roof. My ceiling is just the underside of this concrete (it is not plastered).

I suffer from dry mould growing on this ceiling, despite ventilating well. See picture.

I have seen it advised that putting up insulated plasterboard on my ceilings might stop this, as the mould is probably caused by the concrete being very cold. Is this right? Does anyone have any experience?

Do you get this all over all your ceilings? ie could there be a leak if it’s just one room that has this problem?

Im thinking it’s dampness coming from somewhere although I’m not an expert on concrete roofs!

Have you checked the roof, guttering etc?

If that is the roof and there's definitely no leak then a false ceiling which is insulated could be the solution.

We have installed insulated plasterboard on a cold, single skinned external wall in an upstairs room. It has transformed the room from a mould ridden one to a mould free room. Definitely worth a try.
