Hi..
Looking for a bit of help/info..
We are looking to possibly move from london to Salisbury... please dont judge but yes we are in council housing.. I'm a florist so would be nice to have some potential work options, but will also be commuting to london regents park once a week for this..
Just sort of want to know peoples feels of the place, we have a 6yr old and 2 yr old so good schools are a must, I've read previous comments about schools being private or hard to get into etc..

We literally just want a quieter life with nicer living environments for the kids. .. thanks in advance. Xx

I spent several months in a village outside Salisbury. I have to say I really liked Salisbury, and would gladly move there. Seemed fairly safe, not too big, not too small, people I met were friendly. I don't have kids though so can't comment on schools etc.

Hi,
Sorry no advice on the area but interested to see what others say as we're in a similar situation.
Husband and I (plus 2 year old) had planned to move to Cotswolds from London(this has been on the cards for a few years). I have a sales role and can WFH and Dh is a carpenter /facilities manager so might not be able to get a job easily now. Worried about whether now is a good time to move due to repercussions of COVID19 on economy /job market plus Brexit. Feel like it's going to be a very shaky 12-18 months and not sure myself whether we should move... gutted and very unsure!
Are you worried about that? (Sorry my boys been up since 4.30 and I'm very inarticulate this morning!) probs could have worded that question better!
I'm sure you have a good plan for Salisbury, I just feel really worried now about doing a big move... agh

Hey, dont apologise, worded fine.. lol 4.30! Wow, sorry for you. Lol
Yeah it is all a worry, of course, I'm in no immediate rush, just trying to get in the research before making said move really, I love the look of Salisbury and its town feel as a pose to city, my worry is schools and if there is any social housing stigma, being a more affluent area, my son is 6, but very shy, nervous, doesn't find it easy to approach and make friends, part of the reason we are looking for a quieter, ruralish setting, city life can be really fast and hard paced. Lol.
Totally get your worry though, I think this whole c19 us going to leave its mark for everyone some way or another, but we have to try to muddle through it the best we can.. my hope is to move in good time before secondary school ( he is in year 2 from sept ) so nice amount of time to make the leap. 😊
Aaw love the cotswolds, so pretty.. I grew up in the Midlands countryside so completely get the appeal.
Good luck. Xx
