We've got very similar on both our loft hatches, they're ok in that setting. Suppose it depends what you're using them for. Not sure I'd trust them as standalones.

Yes, for awkward access to a loft (cottage). They're good except a little scary when you fold them down - I worry about trapped fingers.

Yes, bought one after using a borrowed one to paint the underside of a very high staircase - they are good - ours has a mechanism for preventing trapped fingers although it is still scarey.

I bought a very long one on the basis that it might sometimes be useful. This was a mistake as it is very heavy (like, 20kg). Do check the weight of the different lengths before you buy.

Just to add -
I have worked up tall (4m ish) ladders - both this type and a more traditional 2-part sliding one. The telescopic one was more stable (wide, heavy base), and packs up small. But it's heavy - heavier than the equivalent 2-part one.

Yes have got one
And yes it’s very good
No garage so didn’t want to store a traditional long ladder as it’s a security risk - this collapses easily and fits in a small shed - plus is very transportable as it fits in a car.
I only use it fully extended so depending on what you want it for, bear it in mind that you can’t extend it just a bit, if you get what I mean. It’s all the way, or nothing - or mine is, anyway. I bought it for external use. It’s really light but feels totally safe.

Yes, we use it mainly for loft access. And changing outside security lights etc. Great purchase

I have a 2m one for reaching the roof rails on our campervan, I love it!
