Can you find out who owns/is responsible for maintaining walls and fences outside?

We bought our freehold under leasehold enfranchisement legislation. The landlord fought us all the way and refused to hand over the documents in his possession like previous conveyances/details f previous disputes.

We now need to figure out who owns/is responsible for various borders with neighbouring properties. The title registers that you get online for a few pounds just refer to mesme or party walls but I don’t know if that’s just inside walls.

I hear about plans with “T”s on them. Would I be able to get such a plan from the Registry -are they likely to hold such a thing?

you should have had the plan, such as it is, when you bought the freehold. If not, you can buy it from the land registry site.

BUT it may well not answer your question. Just had a fence problem with a property and the deeds simply show a red line round the bit that I own, none of the t marks.

I assume you had a solicitor I would have thought they would have records & deeds even if you don't - ring them up & find out - I recently needed some paperwork for a property & I rang up & got sent my deeds by email from my solicitor
If he sold this I don't see how he could have kept the paperwork back
However if the land/house is registered the Land registry should hold the paperwork & you can go on line & request - in fact anyone can do this about any property
