We are trying to choose between two houses. We have two children and one on the way.
House A- 4 bed character in "posh" but secluded area but needs work, it has space and potential to do the work but obv we have small children and would need to save to get it done over time. We would have to move my sons school. Liveable in for the meantime. 3 large beds, one small. Lovely garden, big double garage that could be extended into. 400k.
House B - 4 bed late 80s build in nice area, but probably one we prefer than the "posh" area as closer to amenities, friends etc. Wouldnt have to move school. Practically perfect inside so wouldn't even really need to decorate or anything but smallish kitchen with not really much potential to extend, and entry is straight into kitchen. Bedrooms are all equally sized with one slightly smaller but not really big rooms as such, could fit in a cot. Has a really impressive sitting room. Garden ok. 465k.
Really torn as would love to not have to move school and stuff doesn't come up very often in this area of this type of size but really prefer character and potential of the other one. With a baby on the way I really don't know whether that's a dream we can't deal with. We are hoping this would be a move to last us till the children have grown up. They are both good school areas.
