Help! - Kitchen diner lighting (with plans)

Hello,

We are at the point where our electrician is asking for our plans for the lighting in our newly formed kitchen diner. We are thinking of adding downlights especially in the back kitchen area but I am unsure how many to put in and if we should have a pendant light over the table?

I'm feeling completely out of my depth and need to make a decision soon! Any suggestions?

One central feature light, dimmable, not too low in case you want to move the table.

Spotlights (3 above the sink run) and under-cupboard lights (on the other side) on a separate circuit for task lighting

All to be LEDs/low energy and matching warm white.

Then you can have either or both on together.

Don't let the electrician try and make a symmetrical arrangement of spotlights in the ceiling like dice spots. Position them over the worktops where they are useful.
