DIY kitchens is this unusual?

I’ve read threads on here raving about the company, and I’ve looked at lots of reviews. I’ve sorted out what I need from the website. I need to order a kitchen quickly.

I ordered sample doors. Not all were labelled, and we are missing some. I called the company, sent photos of the unlabelled doors, gave them the purchase order no. Asked when the other doors would arrive.

It’s been 8 working days now, their last email asked for the purchase order no again.

I love the quality of the doors, but need to see the missing ones too, I suspect the one I want is one of the missing ones. Is this typical? Am I just unlucky? Is this an indication of how they usually are? Or am I better off settling for something else.

I’d love to hear your opinions and experiences please

Also wondering the same, we still have a missing sample

how many sample doors did you order? I recently ordered two sample doors and two sample carcasses - all items arrived within a few days and all were labelled. Every time I've needed to get in touch with them via email, I get a response fairly quickly. I also called them last week with a query I had on bespoke doors, and somebody answered straight away, and was helpful. Have you tried ringing them instead? Their lines are open until 10pm during the week.

I also ordered samples recently. Only one of about 4 doors arrived. I'm guessing they're running low. I'm also waiting on worktop samples which is annoying and I paid for those!

After asking again, my other doors are coming (and I did pay for those too, @birdbrained). 3 of us out of 4 have had problems.
I'm hoping this isn't typical of the service!

People who have problems are far more likely to post...

They were absolute stars when we did our kitchen, went above and beyond for me, but that was five years ago so not helpful really.

Loofah01 · 26/05/2020 12:47

Our is being delivered on Monday but all samples arrived OK and they have been above and beyond helpful in the design and buying process.

Proof of course, will be on Monday!

TK1930 · 26/05/2020 12:49

All our (3) door samples arrived promptly a few weeks ago

I ordered two doors and worktop sample, only the doors arrived

We used them just over two years ago..brilliant experience and love the kitchen. Suspect CV isn't helping.

There were some negative reviews about quality a year ago..understand it was a faulty paint machine. I know neighbours used them after we have and been delighted

Notyetthere · 27/05/2020 07:55

You do know that the worktop samples come from a different place altogether?

I received the door samples that I ordered. They substituted one door with a slightly different one to give me an idea of the colour I was looking at as they had run out of samples. I had ordered same door, different colours.

However, I now have at least 7 doors to return which is proving to be a very expensive return as the package weighs 21kg.

@Notyetthere
For returning your doors ... look at My Baggage .

Up to 30kg £18

www.mybaggage.com/quote?quote=GB,GB

We have used them as we were flying to Cornwall and our luggage was going to cost £100 return . Fab service .

Smallgoon · 27/05/2020 11:35

@Notyetthere Are you planning on ordering your kitchen with them? They say you can hand the samples doors to their delivery men when they deliver kitchen, which is what I plan on doing.

Notyetthere · 27/05/2020 12:21

Aah ok that's good. @smallgoon yes we intend to order from them. However, we are planning on doing the work to our house early next year. I'm currently collecting quotes for the different jobs including the kitchen to see if we will need to top up with remortgaging to cover all the works.

Will they still accept the doors even if it months ago since we ordered them?

I imagine so. I'm not sure how frequently they change their ranges or if they discontinue them after a period. You may also want to keep hold of them to compare against other samples - if you have a year to plan, i'm guessing you may request samples elsewhere.
