Can concrete slabs be used as a sub base for a patio?

I have a pile of old broken concrete slabs. I don't want have a particular use for them.

I really want to avoid paying £300 for a skip and spending 2 days dragging them from the back garden to the front, but I don't know what else to do. They are so heavy, and there are atleast 30 of them.

We need to get a new patio (these slabs are from a different area of the garden and I don'twant to use these ones I have as I want a particular style) this won't be for another couple of months or so atleast, so I am wondering if it is worth leaving them if they could be used for the sub base (assuming one will be needed, I have no idea)

I don't want to wait until we get people in to quote to ask this, if I can help it, as me and dp have some time off together next week so we will have time to get a skip and work on it if it's the only option to get rid of them.

Yes but they will need all breaking up into small pieces which isn't easy
