Shimmery carpet & LVT

Need new flooring throughout. Upstairs, planning carpet. My DH calls it ‘Essex carpet’ but I can’t see my to locate online exactly what it’s known as. It looks very soft, shimmery, quite glam. You can see where the hoover has been ran. What material is it? Does it have a specific name?

Downstairs, planning LVT Vinyl. Any recommendations or who to avoid? I’m aware of the big brands Karndean, Amtico, Polyfloor. Ideally after a very dark wood parquet effect. TIA

Not sure about the carpet but we put polyflor LVT downstairs. It's only been a couple of months but so far so good. Have kids and pets and it's really easy to clean. It's also much warmer than the tiles we have in the kitchen. Have an area rug in the living room and it stays put just fine without any grippers.

Can you post an image of the kind of thing you mean OP?

I’ve just managed to find one called isense - in photo. This is the sort to look im after. Is that what it’s known as?

LVT - polyflor are a lot cheaper than karndean & amtico, wondered if quality was still the same

We inadvertently had carpet that did that, I hated it haha

Oh no, really. Why was that?

I’m after something like velvet, soft, with a shimmer? Doesn’t necessarily have to show the carpet lines haha!
