Tikkurila paints

We're looking at getting a few rooms redecorated after having our windows replaced. For the first time we'll be hiring a painter to do the work as with 2 small children it'll take us forever to get it done ourselves.

He's recommend Tikkurila paint and I've had one of their colour cards through the post. Their tester paints work out at about a fiver each so I don't really want to be ordering lots of them. So my question is have people found the colours in their colour cards an accurate representation of actual paint on the walls?

If anyone has any real life photos of their shades of off-white/cream/pale grey and blues then I'd love to see them!

I didn’t know they were sold here - they are very popular in the countries around Finland (Finnish brand) though.

Yeah they have a UK website now where you can order but don't seem to be stocked in many places. Lots of Pinterest/Instagram posts with pictures of rooms done using the colours are written in Finnish/Russian etc which doesn't make it very easy to figure out which colours they've used!

Winter flower have you used Tikkurila? I am drooling over the colours and prices. Ordered sample pots ( they are half a litre!). Painter/decorator very busy, coming in five weeks time to look at the job and cannot start till November. Lockdown home improvements mania is here. Grateful for feedback.

I'm afraid we've not used any yet. It's taken much longer than expected to get having the windows replaced sorted so there won't be any decorating happening until autumn/winter. We've got some of the free colour cards from their website and our decorator has just done a room in his own house and said the colour on the walls is a pretty good match to what is on the cards.

Dh is a painter, we have tikkurila in 3 rooms in our house. The colour is very like the colour cards and it is a good paint BUT it covers absolutely shite on light walls(needs a good 3 coats) but fine on dark walls strangely.

Thanks The Canyon. I have read that they match dare I mention F& B colours too very accurately. I cannot stop myself from checking paint colours , it is a form of addiction I am sure but you will understand when I reveal that the hallway and stairs and two rooms in our house have not been done and we moved here a mere 26 years ago. DH has always vetoed this.

I can’t comment on the accuracy with the paint card exactly but have had two from them recently colour matched to F andB that have been pretty accurate so would be surprised if they aren’t pretty close.
