Shortening furniture legs?

I have a tarva six drawer chest that is perfect for the landing... except the straight square pine legs are making the whole unit 3/4 inch too tall for the space. Usually I’d get my joiner oddjob man to sort it out, but since he’s out of action, how to I cut them off myself ensuring they’re all straight and level??

Tape, metal rule, guideline, sharp saw, sand paper. ... a few years of experience.

I’d wait unless you’ve used a saw before and can guide it straight.

Would the unit hold together if you just unscrewed them for now, and get them shortened when this is over?
