Abandoning the south east

Has anyone else done this?
I just could not stand the traffic and the expense anymore and just upped and left on my own to live in an extremely rural part of the west country all on my own.
I've been here for 6 months and I'm loving it so far.
Has anyone else done this? Abandoned London/South East and run away to Wales or wherever?
How are you finding this.

Where in the south east were you OP? We were SE London and moved out to Kent although not too far as both work in London and it's lovely here, little village and much less traffic unlike the south circular!
